I’m in love with the song at the moment. I’ve had periods like this before, with other songs, where it’s just only the thing you want to listen to. It goes in waves.
For example, this next song I heard for the first time on my car radio a long while ago. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get inside and find the same station before the song was over, so I wound up driving around the neighborhood until it was over:
This next one was used by a pair of performance artists/clowns, and when I found the song, I was addicted for a hunk of time:
Now the funny thing with Golden Brown is that someone, a British YouTuber names Laurence Mason, did a cover/edit of the song and added his own saxophone playing. He then did a very clever edit of Brubeck’s “Take Five” as a music video to accompany him. It’s quite lovely.
So this week I’ve just been grooving along with the song, both versions. I guess I’ll stop when I get tired of them, although I said that about writing a blog about a stuffed cow and I’m still going strong….
