I have a full day to just think and be quiet. I haven’t spoken to anyone yet, and it’s almost noon. I do have some errands to run and will need to talk later, but what a privilege. For once, my neighbor hasn’t put on his religious programming. (I feel sometimes like complaining but he’s really not that loud, and it makes him happy.)
The last two weeks were a climbing extravaganza, but both me and my partner have not climbed a lot recently, so we wound up doing a lot of traverses (which required less in the arms which were out of shaoe but more from the legs which were doing fine). They also mean that we could finish with a summit, which is always nice. I felt like I needed to be very courageous sometimes to make it all the way up and all the way down. The up just because it was often just hard hiking, and down isn’t any easier on the knees!
I’m overall tired of seeing people and speaking to them. Does that ever happen to you? It’s likely a part of my age; I don’t have children around me at home and my partner and I don’t live together. This empty, quiet time feels like drinking cool water on a warm day. I can fill myself up with silence. Just me and Foro, hanging out and listening to the crickets.
