Quiet

Just for a moment, from time to time, I am able to find quiet in my head. It’s barely an instant (and usually not while meditating, which just shows how much I rather suck at meditating, in spite of a regular practice).

This last week I’ve had it twice. Once while walking in the mountains and just being. The second at a free concert, where the music hit some sublime inner part of me and suddenly I was present.

It’s beautiful when we realize we’re alive. It’s beautiful when we have a moment where we either don’t have aches and pains or they’re just bearable for the moment. It’s beautiful when we hear music that transports us, or we are in nature and can hear birds or a stream gurgling, and can remember how wonderful nature is.

One thing is finding it, the other is recognizing it. When you do, try to just sit and breathe, and watch the feeling come and go.
