Fog

Where I live, there are fogs down in the valleys in the fall and winter. It especially happens when there is a high pressure system, and while the weather is beautiful up in the mountains, it stays gray, humid and chilly down below. The fog can be pretty, but it’s rather oppressive. It is one of the things I hate the most about being down below, knowing that the weather is lovely but that I can’t enjoy it. The fog makes me feel I can’t breathe. It’s one of the principle reasons I moved up into my little village in the hills.

Today was the best. I had to go down to the valley for an appointment, but on the return, I took a train halfway up to my village and walked the rest of the way, just to be in the sun. I’m so very, very happy to live where I do!
