Everybody’s Got a Little Light

Just had a Funkadelic moment today. Everyone may have a little light under the sun, but today the sun was nowhere to be found. It’s been grey and damp. It rained most of yesterday, but in some ways I’m lucky it’s raining. I had a brain fart about my snow tires (they were at my partner’s place a four hour drive away because I was there last winter). I brought back two tires last week on the train and my partner brought two this weekend. My appointment is tomorrow and thanks to it being rainy and not snowy, I can actually get my car to the appointment today! Yeah! And it’s stopped raining for a bit, so as soon as I get my German homework out of the way (online class at five pm) I can take the car down and walk back up. The walk takes about two and a half hours, but it goes through some pretty woods so I’m looking forward to it.

Another nice thing about the rain is that I finally got enough sleep this weekend. I’m about two weeks into my own, personal Lent or Ramadan. For many years now, I make sure that I’m taking care of myself in November: no alcohol, lots of sleep and fruits and vegetables, exercising even when the weather is crap and prioritizing trying to stay healthy. It helps the usual depression that arrives with the loss of sunlight and bad weather.

I also listen to the happiest music I can get my hands on. So I’m going to share my happiness here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWurqD68u70
