Feelin’ Lucky!

I found twenty bucks today. I was waiting for a place at the self check out counter at the grocery store. Only one of three self check out posts was working, and there was a much longer line for the cashier so I patiently waited there. I finished my payment and as I was leaving, I searched to find a place to leave my basket. In the mesh of baskets near one of the closed posts was twenty bucks! No one had been there before I came up to pay. There was no way to know who the twenty had belonged to. And so it is mine.

The other nice thing was that I made it home just before a big rainstorm.

I’ve had a cold, but this was the first day in about a week that I’ve felt a bit more energetic. I was still a bit lazy this morning, just because I could be.

It wasn’t nice to be sick on my birthday, but I’ve had an unexpected benefit. I was having knee problems and foot problems and who knows what, but the forced rest (and probably the antihistamines) mean that I don’t have any pain at the moment. So three good things.

For the birthday evening, my partner and I went to a pretty town and had dinner in a pretty place. Foro came along, and he enjoyed the nice guesthouse with us.
